Petts Wood Osteopathic Clinic
Simon Tolson BSc (Ost) BSYA (CUR. Hyp) PGCE. Dip (Sports Psychology)
Welcome to Simon Tolsons' consultancy a local based Osteopathic Clinic in Orpington.
Initially qualified in Sports Massage, I started Petts Wood Osteopathic Clinic in 1994 after gaining a degree in Osteopathy from the British School Of Osteopathy. Since then I have developed the clinic covering all aspects of Osteopathy plus several other disciplines to be complimentary to osteopathy.
Within three years of graduating as an Osteopath I was teaching at the European School Of Osteopathy both as a Clinic Tutor and also asked to lecture on Sports Injuries. This led me to a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Greenwich University gaining a PGCE in 2001. Apart from undergraduate teaching I also teach on the Masters Course and lecture internationally to both undergraduates and qualified Osteopaths.
In 2003 I undertook a Life Coaching Diploma qualification. Alongside this I studied NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), which is a great success for my work as an Osteopath, Sports Psychologist, Sports Coach, Hypnotist and my work in Education. Additionally I have qualifications in Hypnosis, Acupuncture, Pilates and Yoga. Thus allowing me to be more holistic with rehabilitation of injuries and back problems, provide alternative approaches to pain relief and empower patients to take more control of their situation.
From 1997 the clinic has expanded to cater for much more than just the mainstream back problems that patients come in with. As well as the treatment room there is also a rehabilitation studio and is used for both Pilates and Yoga classes. I have also studied and developed a treatment approach using an advanced treatment for fascia (the connecting tissue within the body) known as Fascial Unwinding which involves removing both the stress and torsional strains out of the body which are often neglected and can be the cause of repeated problems in the body.
